Product Comparison: 1.5 litre Slow Cookers

Slow cookers have been around for years. They are a very cheap and easy way of making a meal, and they are especially good for the busy lifestyles that we lead today. Simply put all the ingredients in the slow cooker, stir them around, turn it on and leave it to cook throughout the day. They are especially good for cheaper cuts of meat as they gently cook the joint making it tender and very tasty. Curries, chilies and stews all cook perfectly, as well as soups and broths. My mum swears by them, and now so do I!

In this article we will take a quick look at three small slow cookers that have been designed to cook up to 1.5 litres of ingredients. This size is perfect for one to two people and is also excellent for taking camping or in a caravan. They are easy to clean, affordable to use and buy, and will improve your meal times no end. They all cost between £17 to £30 (updated Feb 2021) and all have great reviews on the UK Amazon website.

Swan 1.5 litre Slow Cooker

Swan SF17010N Stainless Steel Slow Cooker - 1.5 L, SilverLet us begin by looking at the Swan 1.5L Slow Cooker (SF17010N). Swan is a British brand with a long history. They have always been well known for their quality kitchen products, but it has been quite a while since I have seen their products for sale. I’m glad to see that they are still around although it appears that they have been through the mill a little. Fortunately, they are now owned by Tefal so you can be sure that they have a quality company supporting them.

There are over 1,330 reviews of this Swan Slow Cooker on Amazon.co.uk with very favourable results. This seems to be a quality slow cooker with the only complaints being from people how clearly did not bother to read the description of the actual product that they bought! It has a two year guarantee and as with most slow cookers it has a removable crock, three temperature settings and a glass lid. It is perfect for a single person and does not take up much space on the worktop so it would be great for students who are always struggling for space.

The Swan 1.5L Stainless Steel Slow Cooker (SF17010N) has an RRP of £29.99 but is often cheaper to buy on Amazon UK. You can also purchase this product in 3.5l and 6.5l sizes for when you want to cook a greater amount of food.
